St Ives - Sydney - Meet - March 27-28, 2010

Dear members, friends and interested personel

After our very successful Coopernook get together we've decided to do something a little different. Head to SYDNEY.
The venue will be at: ST. IVES SHOW GROUND on the weekend of March 27th and 28th, 2010. Camping is allowed but we also encourage day visitors. Campsite locations are restricted by whether you choose power or not. Powered sites are also limited and sorry no camp fires.

This agenda will be a little different from the normal meets. This is an OPEN WEEKEND to ALL who are interested in HF RADIO and the associated Network services. Firstly our main aim is to create an awareness of all aspects regarding outback communications, some limited training on the usage of your HF radio and FREE SOFTWARE upgrades will also be available to anyone who subscribes to a new network, In addition to this there'll be a 'Once Only' special offer on the Codan NGT Radio package (These offers are STRICTLY for the duration of the weekend only)

To reiterate, you don't necessarily have to have an HF Radio or be a member of HFoZ or any network for that matter, but simply be interested or curious. Come along and see what HFoZ has to offer, you'll be amazed as to how far HF has come in the last 12 months! Don't forget to bring a chair

Also, if you're a member of any 4WD club please let them know that all interested people are most welcome.

Camping must be organised by yourself on arrival as sites are limited. Mark 3389 and Doug 0014 will arrive Friday evening 26th

On Saturday at 10am and 2pm and on Sunday at 11am we will give a formal demonstration and talks on the LATEST FEATURES and NEW services provided by the HFoZ radio network.

ALE - CALM. This facility will give the radio users virtually full automatic selection of the correct channel without all the messing around with channel selection, beacon or channel testing. It's the closest thing you'll get to 'One Touch Dialling' - We're currently test trailing the facility and will keep you in touch with test results soon. In addition it will give you up to 84 characters (instead of 64) when sending SMS, Emails etc.
